Remarkable condition. Unused for over 20 years. Circa 1989.
I got all-new furniture in '89. I virtually “lived” at work with little time at home. I was also single & childless so the furniture went largely unused (I'm a non-smoker, too). Around '94 my folk's fall into ill health had me at their house daily after work. I slept mainly at their house for the next 20 years to address care-giving issues. They've now passed & I've got two houses full of furniture. Much as I love these pieces some simply must go.
This armoire is in superior condition. The few small marks are so minor your friends will likely think this piece is new. This rare piece is priced less than half the original inflation-adjusted cost.

Dixie Furniture developed a legendary reputation for fine case goods going back to their founding in 1901. In recent years they've gone through ownership changes and sadly in '05 all production moved offshore like most brands.
This piece, however, dates from '89 when all high-end pieces came from the original USA shops in Lexington, NC.
Real handcrafted solid woods & hand-rubbed finishes with obsessive attention to detail were a given. This was purchased new from Heleringer's, the premier furniture store in Louisville for many years.

This handsome piece is ideal for electronics or bedding & linens. The upper cabinet's wide pull-out shelf is above a full width, shallow drawer (2” H). The lower cabinet's narrower pull-out shelf is beside 3 smaller drawers. Two
never used
height-adjustable shelves
are still in original factory wrapping.
Their wrapping plus the armoire's back panel show style # 303-312. The original parts pack has all 8 never-used, color-matched shelf support tabs. Multiple tab holes allow 4 height choices for the upper and 3 for the lower shelf. All 4 drawers and both pull-out shelves use smooth, quiet nylon rollers. For entertainment use there are 3 outlets in the upper cabinet plus 4 in the lower. Overall dimensions are 76” H x 40” W x 23” D. The upper interior is 28” H x 38” W x 21” D. The upper pull-out shelf is 28” W x 19” D. The lower pull-out shelf is 21” W x 20” D. The space above it is 17” H.. The 3 lower drawers are 10” W x 14” D. Since I only used this for a TV I only removed 1 of the 3 rear knock-out panels but it could be easily reattached. There are a few minor marks on the upper pull-out shelf where my TV sat. The original parts pack also has 2 never-used grommets for routing cords through the back panel. Since my floor was level I gave the floor adjusters to a friend years ago, but they're rather generic and could be easily sourced at a good home center if needed. I've included the sheet for them to confirm the original Dixie Furniture provenance. The first 2 numbers of the serial # L891210 on the back panel confirm a '89 vintage.
